Here ive labeled a kerrange magazine with all of the main points,
Mast Head - Usualy at the top, on the left
Main Image - Gives a picture for the Main Sell-Line and what the magazine is about
Sub Head  - Explains Sell-Lines
Main Sell-Line - Draws The Audience, Tells what main story and image is about
Sell Lines - Smaller, less attracting than main sell-line
Barcode - Used when buying the magazine
Essential Info - Date, Issue Number

Preliminary exercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate your grasp of DTP.
